AH Civils was setup to provide a simple and straight forward approach to civil engineering, where we can provide advice and designs on drainage, highways, access, services, levels and most other infrastructure elements for your project. We work on both single house extensions and renovations up to large multi-use residential and commercial developments. We're based near Exeter in Devon but work on projects across the UK. At the procurement stage of a project we can provide real value and assess the engineering implications and constraints of a site to understand key issues or opportunities early on
At the planning stage we can work with the project team and provide advice and designs in relation to access, drainage, flooding and site levels. This can lead to producing drainage strategies based on either infiltration or attenuation, access proposals with visibility splays and input on site levels
You may have specific planning conditions that need to be discharged in order to get your site progressing. We can help with most engineering issues and can detail drainage strategies, access proposals and provide suitable statements and reports to satisfy the local planning authority
We are experts in Flood Risk and can provide input to help the design of a scheme where flood risk may be a problem. We can produce formal Flood Risk Assessments and technical reports to aid planning applications where required
Prior to your construction stage, we can produce detailed drainage designs for your scheme, including pipe runs, soakaways, attenuation to meet the appropriate standards and to demonstrate SuDS compliance
We are experienced both in infrastructure engineering and also with general building projects and can provide general advice towards a project, be it a self-build or local scale development
We offer on-site percolation and infiltration testing within the Devon, Cornwall and Somerset areas, in order to provide a one-stop-shop for your drainage needs in completing the required testing and design work
We can work with the project architect to identify site levels, providing Finished Floor Levels, External levels and to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations for Part M and K where applicable
We are able to assist with identifying existing utilities on or near your site and can also liaise with providers to understand connection or diversions costs. We can also produce site utility supply drawings to help coordinate your site

We have over 10 years' experience in providing a vast range of engineering services for both residential and commercial schemes, from single dwellings to large residential developments and commercial estates.
We are based just outside of Exeter and have worked extensively across the south west region but cover nationwide.
